Planning for Integrated Neighbourhoods Studio at the University of Westminster

Roudaina Alkhani is thrilled to work with her enthusiastic students at the Integrated Neighbourhoods Studio, University of Westminster, on plans for a significant London area between Euston Station and Regent’s Park. This dynamic hybrid area, originally part of architect John Nash’s vision, is undergoing rapid transformation with the new HS2 plans and the expansion of Euston Station.

Planning for Integrated Neighbourhoods, which Roudaina teaches alongside architect Yara Sharif, is an exciting Year 1 module (L4) of the innovative BA Designing Cities course at the University of Westminster (Twitter: @UoWDesCit & @uw_abe).

Students begin with an urban mapping exercise of the area, followed by public realm design aimed at enhancing connectivity and spatial experience. Their work culminates in proposals for infill developments that integrate housing, community buildings, urban farming, and shared urban living, supporting community action.
