Dr Roudaina Alkhani was happy to be invited by the Green Economy Society at the University College London to offer a theoretical/professional workshop addressing sustainable development to a group of curious students. She explained to them how Sustainability has emerged as thought and became identified by the United Nations as goals the should underpin all development projects and initiatives. She presented the 17 Sustainable Development Goals with an emphasis on the importance of their integration. Roudaina presented examples of sustainable city strategies and sustainable urban development tools for assessing master plans and urban areas. The workshop also involved group exercise engaging the students in discussing and assessing the sustainability of strategies and projects they had selected.
Dr. Roudaina Alkhani was delighted to be invited by the Green Economy Society at University College London to conduct a workshop on sustainable development for a group of eager students. During the workshop, she explained how sustainability has emerged as a crucial concept and has been adopted by the United Nations as a goal that should guide all development projects and initiatives. She presented the UN-Habitat 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasising the importance of integrating these goals into various initiatives. Roudaina also shared examples of sustainable city strategies and urban development tools for evaluating master plans and urban areas.
The workshop included group exercises where students engaged in discussions and assessed the sustainability of strategies and projects they had chosen.
