Roudaina Alkhani was involved in this project as she worked as a Senior Planner and Project Manager at the Holbaek Kommune in Denmark in 2013.
Roudaina was the project manager, establishing the local plan that facilitated and informed the design and development of a new home for the elderly with dementia in synergy with Denmark’s welfare policy and the overall strategy for senior citizens.
The project included exploring best practices and innovation in elderly and dementia homes, a careful process design to ensure the local authority’s social welfare vision and innovation embedded in the design of the new residential complex. She led negotiations with stakeholders, and managed the planning application. The process involved environmental screening, public hearing processes, the establishment of local plan documents, and political approval processes.
